Smoothie Addict

Luke has a new addiction....smoothies! Sean has been making Luke safe smoothies lately and Luke goes nuts for them. When Sean gets the blender ready, Luke squeals with delight and dances around the kitchen. He is very impatient when it comes to the smoothies. He will also hum and make a blending like noise when the blender goes on. He drinks from his cup but will come up to Sean and steal from his cup and then drink from my cup. Sean and I are sure he gets more smoothie than the two of us combined. He is too cute for us to say no to. He can steal my smoothie anytime.

Mini pool

I finally set up the pool I bought weeks ago for Luke. He was a little hesitant at first to go in, but once I helped him get in he was enjoying himself. Brogan quickly joined him. Guinness stood his distance. He is not a fan of the water....not a true lab.

Wine tasting

Last weekend Sean and I went wine tasting in Temecula. Luke stayed with my parents and we got a day/night to ourselves. The weather was wonderful. I was worried it was going to be blistering hot out there in August but it was very nice and there was a great breeze coming through. We went on a tour bus and sampled four different wineries. Our favorite this time around was Mount Palomar. We had a friendly host, good wine and they had a nice outdoor area with live music. We stayed at the South Coast Winery which was beautiful. We went to breakfast there and Sean had the best pancake in the world! OMG! It was a banana coconut vanilla cream pancake. It was so yummy and I want to go back just for the pancake. We had a really nice time and it was great to have some alone time, but we missed Luke a lot.

Mama's shoes

Luke likes shoes. He tries to wear any pairs he can get his hands on. He recently tackled the high heels and surprisingly is able to walk in them. Now we'll see if he can manage to walk in those heels while pushing his baby stroller....our little girly boy. ;-)

A stroller and a baby

Luke has a real interest in babies lately. He loves looking and touching my friends new babies as well as any little baby dolls. We were at the park on Friday and he spotted a little girls stroller and baby. He ran over to it, examined the baby and said "teetee." He then started to push the stroller around. It was so cute. I gave the stroller back to the little girl and Luke of course did not like that. I picked him up and carried him to the other side of the park and he ran back to the stroller (he did this 3 times). He had so much fun with it. I realized I needed to find a stroller and baby. The nanny of the little girl said she has seen blue strollers. Later that day I went to a toy store and I saw a pink and purple stroller on display. It was the only one they had but it didn't matter. Pink is a nice color. :-) The only doll they had was also pink. I bought the goods and let Luke walk around Balboa Island pushing his stroller. It was so dang funny. He was pushing it along, stopping at store fronts and knocking on the glass, checking on his baby and smiling at the passerbys. It is his new fav toy.

Luke's 15 month update

So, after a month of no posts, here is an update. Luke turned 15 months on July 25th. He had his well check visit and weighed 26 lbs (75%) and is 34" long (off the charts). He just keeps growing. He still continues to be a busy boy and everyday is a wonderful adventure with him. Here are some things he is doing (and has been for the past couple months, but since I haven't posted, here is an update)
- Luke is now a climber and climbs up on the fireplace hearth, chairs, into the cars, table, rocking chair, oven, etc.
- He can point to his belly button and nose when asked. He also likes to point out mom & dads as well.
- He can put his shoes on by himself.....crocs (slip ons)....he'll try to put on other shoes but the laces or tight elastic are too difficult at this age. Whenever I say "Let's go outside Luke. Where are your shoes?" He'll race around the house, find his shoes and sit down and try to put them on.
- He loves bubbles and balloons!
- His vocabulary is slowly coming along. He says doggy, daddy, kitty, thank you, hi and up. He seems to have "forgotten" how to sign for more. He claps his hands instead. He "barks" when asked what a doggy says.
- He is able to feed himself with a spoon
- He enjoys watching baseball with Daddy. If Sean has a game on, Luke will go into the living room, sit on his chair and watch baseball. Only baseball though, he doesn't seem to take an interest to any other sports.
- He dances by spinning around as fast as his little legs can go and claps. It is adorable.
- One day there was a fly buzzing around and I said sho fly while swoshing my hand. Luke picked up on that right away and now puts his hand up by his ear and swoshes it when he sees a fly. It is the funniest thing. He cracks up if you say sho fly.
- Luke runs to the phone when it rings. He also loves babbling on the phone.
- He tries to dress himself
- He has learned how to take his diaper off. Yikes! I have to put shorts on him when he naps. I forgot one day and I walked in to check on him and he was running from one side of his crib to the other with bare buns. I asked where his diaper was and he pointed on the ground. I also forgot on another occasion and went to get him after his nap and he had no diaper on. Luckily he didn't go potty during his nap. That would have been a yucky mess.
- He likes to take peoples sunglasses off and then either puts them on himself or tries to put them back on the person
- He loves to draw with pens, chalk and crayons.
- He likes to play inside our cars. He sits in the drivers seat, holds the wheel, tries to put the keys in the ignition, and even tries to put cds in the player and plug the ipod in. They really do pick up on everything you do.
- He will not eat pieces of fruit at home but will eat them at the Farmer's Market. Toddlers are so picky.
