All lined up

Luke likes to sit on the couch and the other morning he put lamby next to Guinness and then really wanted his stroller up there too.  He lined everything up and was happy with himself afterwards.

Car wash

We washed my car last weekend and Luke enjoyed helping us out.  What a good little boy.

Pumpkin patch

Last Friday we took Luke to Tanaka Farms in Irvine for the pumpkin patch. I had no idea that the farm was so large. They had so many pumpkins to chose from, a pick your own vegetable sections, a corn maze, tractor ride and petting zoo. Luke was more interested in exploring than checking out the pumpkins. He really liked the hay maze. We had a great time and look forward to continuing the tradition of visiting each year. Maybe next year Luke will actually pick out a pumpkin.

Q-tips

Luke is practicing his good hygiene. He enjoys cleaning his ears. After he is done with his ears, he'll try and stick the baby Q-tip in my or Sean's ear.

Sunglasses

Luke finally kept his sunglasses on long enough for me to take a picture.

Daddy's Chair

Luke has learned how to climb up in Daddy's chair and has realized he likes it from up there. Today he brought his snack with him to enjoy. The dogs are always waiting for some hand outs.

Silly boy

Last night when I got Luke out of the bath, he ran out to the living room with the towel still on his head. He started to run in circles making funny noises. It was so hilarious. He'd sit down for a second, stand up, look at the tv and then run around again.

Snack Trap

Luke fell asleep in the car the other day and still had his snack trap in his grasp. The kid doesn't like to part with his food, even while sleeping.

Sleep Training

So, as some of you know, Luke's sleep has been awful lately. He wakes up super early, has midnight awakenings where he is up for hours at times, and isn't napping well. We decided something needed to happen because the lack of sleep is getting to me. On Friday night we began the "Sleep Lady Shuffle." It was recommended by a couple people and it seemed to be the most gentle approach compared to others. I knew I couldn't tolerate the cry it out method and have Luke in his room screaming all alone. The sleep lady shuffle sets a chair by the babies crib and lets you soothe the baby from that point...you can rub their back and shhhhh them but can't pick them up (unless they are in hysterics). They need to learn to self soothe. Every three nights you move the chair closer to the door. The bedtime routine has been working. It takes Luke about 10-15 minutes to fall asleep with no tears. Sunday night he didn't wake up and last night I heard him wake up twice but he put himself back to sleep. He even slept till 6:40am! Yeah! Although tonight was a bad night, it took over an hour for him to fall asleep and it was only because I rocked him until he got drowsy. I'm hoping this hocus pocus works and our little guy learns to be a better sleeper.

Zoomar's

We went to Zoomar's (a petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano) on Saturday. We were a little nervous considering Luke was having one of those days and it took a lot to get out the door. Luckily he took a little nap on the way down so he got a fresh start. There are so many cute photos I took and it was hard to narrow them down...why it has taken me so long to post this. Luke really enjoyed himself. It was really hands on. You can go in an area where they have rabbits and guinea pigs and feed them. They are so cute. Although, I worry about those poor little animals safety with all the crazy kids in there. There is also an area with billy goats. Luke loved running around the goats. The goats were super friendly and would even jump up on you if you had food. They were some hungry animals. I think Luke's favorite part was the choo choo train ride. His first ride on a choo choo.
Luke kissing (or trying to bite) the goat.
True meaning of on demand feedings. I thought this was so sweet.
