Rear View

Sorry for the nudity, but this was just too cute I had to share. Luke enjoys riffling through our drawers to see what he can get into. I caught him in the act, bare buns and all (I had him airing out for awhile). I love how he is standing on his tip toes to view the goods.

Fun with cousin Victoria

Victoria came to visit on Thursday and Luke had a lot of fun with her. He likes the exercise ball we have so he was playing with that and rolling it back and forth to Victoria. He'd also run and push it along by himself. He was all over the place with a big smile on his face.

Happy Father's Day

Sean enjoyed his second Father's Day over the weekend. If Luke could talk, I know he'd say how much he loves his Daddy. He is a major Daddy's boy. When Sean comes home, Luke lights up, runs towards him, smiles and squeals "Daddy!" He loves hanging out and playing with Daddy. It is so special to see the two of them together. I love you so much babe and I think you are the most amazing Father!
I should mention that Sean didn't get to relax much on his special day. I put him to work. He was busy all afternoon building our garden beds (we needed them in place by Monday in order for the landscapers to place irrigation). He worked so hard in the hot sun and didn't even complain once. What a stud! He did such a great job and now we'll be ready to plant our fruits and veggies.

Bike Rides

I got Sean a new bike for his birthday and his grandma bought a co-pilot baby seat and helmet for Luke so we could enjoy family bikes rides. I was so excited and thought for sure Luke would enjoy himself. He absolutely hates the helmet. We've gone on a few bike rides and all have been not so fun. Luke cries and hits his head against Sean's back in protest of having to wear his helmet. Yesterday's bike ride was the worst we've seen Luke in a long time. He screamed....and screamed.....and screamed....for the entire bike ride. It was an ear piercing scream. He was yanking at his helmet, throwing his arms everywhere and just being a pill. We checked a few times to make sure the helmet wasn't pinching him or anything. We cut the bike ride short because we couldn't deal with the screaming. As soon as we got in the driveway, he immediately stopped crying. It was like someone flipped a light switch. I put him down and he took off running and laughing. It was a different child. Family bike rides are not as relaxing and fun as I originally thought they would be. Anyone have any tips for kids liking helmets?

PJ's

Luke's Great Aunt Kelly made him some PJ's for summer. She made him three cute pairs. She is a great seamstress and hopefully I can learn to make some too.

Toolman

Yesterday Sean was putting together a storage unit for the playroom and Luke was curiously watching. It didn't take more than 20 seconds for him to pick up the extra Allen Wrench and help Daddy. He would take the wrench, put it in the hole and wiggle it around. He loves tools.

Crazy hair

Luke's hair is really getting long, especially around his ears. He has wings. Sean and I love his crazy hair. Still haven't reached the first hair cut yet....we're still waiting...we want to see how long it can go before we give in. We like to rumple up his hair and play with it. He must have caught on because I've noticed he'll do that to other kids his age. He'll walk up to them and rub his hand across their hair.

Guinness

Guinness apparently found himself a chair just his size...and his new name must be Luke.

Smart Luke

We keep recycle bins in the garage for newspaper, mixed, cardboard, etc and over the weekend Luke discovered how to open the bins up. He opened the bottom bin which contains the cardboard material. He went through a few things and tossed them aside and then found the old cereal box. He threw it next to Sean and signed for "more." It was the funniest thing ever. He recognized the box and wanted us to know he wanted food. Here he is enjoying his snack.

Palm Springs

Here are some cute pictures from our trip to Palm Springs two weekends ago. We went out with Sean Thursday night and stayed through the weekend. It looks like Sean will be out there every two weeks now with his new projects. It is nice to have the family house to use so we can make a little vacation out of the work visits.

Dancing

Luke has started to really dance recently. When he hears music he'll bend his knees and bounce. Super cute. Well, on Saturday he started a new thing...spinning. He bounces and then starts turning in circles and sometimes raise his arms in the air. We were at Sean's cousins graduation party and there was music outside so Luke started turning and dancing. Hopefully he'll have a good sense of rhythm and be a good dancer. Now I just have to catch it on film.

Daddy's B-day and BBQ

Sean's birthday was last weekend (I'm so behind on blogging). Too bad we didn't have the nice weather we had this weekend over his birthday. Sean said it was the first time he ever remembered it raining on his birthday. It put a damper on his birthday present and plans....I bought him a new beach cruiser. We still had a nice day though. I took him to his favorite Italian Restaurant, Sabatino's on Lido Island. The following day Sean's mom had a BBQ at her house with family.

Centennial Farm

We took Luke to the farm at the fairgrounds last Friday. He had such a blast. I think I found my new hang out for those fussy afternoons. It is so close to us and is free. Luke loved all the animals. He called the cows "doggies" and enjoyed the chickens and roosters. I had such a good time with Luke. I can't explain how amazing it is to see your child enjoy things for the first time. There are so many of those moments you experience and I know there will be a million more...but it is just so dang cool. The look he had in his eyes, the excitement in his squeals and the way he ran from animal to animal was magical. I can't wait to keep discovering with our little man!
