The Aquarium of the Pacific

For New Years Eve, we took Luke to the Aquarium of the Pacific. We knew we was too young to fully appreciate it, but he still had a good time. He loved people watching and flirting with girls. His favorite part was watching two little fish play fight with each other in a tank. He was cracking up. I love nothing more than the sound of his laugh. His second favorite part was watching the sting rays flap out of the water (picture below).

The Getty Villa

Today we visited the Villa in Pacific Palisades. Sean and I have been wanting to go for awhile now and finally acted on our words. Sean had the week off from work so we had some nice quality family time.
Luke was quite the trooper while at the Villa. He just strolled along taking in all the art, people and beautiful landscape. I think he really enjoyed it. He has been having a rough week with the teething so we thought the drive and stroll might help. He enjoyed the Villa but didn't quite enjoy the car ride....especially since the drive home was longer because I made a request to stop at Diddy's (a yummy cookie shop in Westwood. I lived for these cookies at UCLA) to stock up on some cookies. Yummy!

Wino

This was an accident waiting to happen. Now that Luke is "army crawling" he has managed to find the wine bottles. He scoots his way over there and proceeds to play with the glass bottles. Sean and I took this picture because we (okay, I) thought it was pretty cute and funny. Lack of parenting skills....I should have ended it right then and there. We kept saying "we need to move the wine rack because one of these days, Luke is going to break one." Well, we kept saying that and sure enough I turned my back on Luke for a few seconds and I here a "crack." I turned around and saw our son sitting in a pool of red wine with the broken wine bottle in his hand and the biggest smile on his little face. My heart stopped and reached for Luke and the broken bottle. How Luke was not injured was a true blessing. Thank God he didn't cut homself or decide that the bottle was a good thing to taste. Needless to say, the wine rack was moved.

Visit with the McSherry's

Our good friends Matt and Carrie and their son Jack (who is three months older than Luke) came to visit today. They live up in San Fran so we haven't seen them since Carrie was pregnant. It was so great to visit with them and meet Jack.

Merry Christmas

Luke's first Christmas....he was still too young to realize what was going on, but he sure had a good time eating tissue paper. He was more interested in the wrapping than the presents. We spent the morning at the house with the dogs and then went over to Great Grandma Jedy's with the Cheney clan. Luke definitely got spoiled this year with tons of presents. He'll be opening presents all week long.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Grandma Mimi's (Sean's Mom) house. Luke's cousins Declan (4 years old) and Jack (2 years old) were over and the three of them had a good time. It will be so fun to watch them when Luke is big enough to run around and cause trouble.

Luke enjoyed the magazines more than his presents

I thought this was so cute....all three heads....and Luke's head isn't much smaller

Swinging along

Today we took Luke to the park to swing on the swing for the first time. Luke loved it and was laughing and smiling the entire time. I think we could have left him swinging for hours.

Our best present

We got our Christmas tree today and Luke sure took a liking to the lights and big red bow. We decided to dress him up. He is the best present we could have asked for.
